Free Eye Check-Up Camp in Dwarka by Suma Blessings Foundation with Centre For Sight

On January 8, 2025, the Suma Blessings Foundation, in collaboration with the esteemed Centre For Sight, organized a vital free eye check-up camp in Dwarka, specifically at JJ Colony. This initiative aimed to provide essential eye care services to the underprivileged sections of the community, highlighting the importance of regular eye examinations and awareness about eye health.

Why Eye Health Matters

Eye health is often overlooked, yet it plays a crucial role in our overall well-being. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 2.7 billion people suffer from visual impairment globally. Regular eye check-ups can help in early detection and treatment of various eye-related issues, preventing severe conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.

A Step Towards Community Welfare

The free eye check-up camp was set up to cater to the needs of the local residents of Dwarka and surrounding areas. With the support of health professionals from Centre For Sight, the camp provided:

  • Comprehensive Eye Examinations: Trained optometrists conducted thorough eye tests to assess vision clarity, detect refractive errors, and evaluate eye health.
  • Awareness Sessions: Participants were educated about common eye diseases, preventive measures, and the importance of regular check-ups.
  • Distribution of Eyewear: Individuals in need of corrective lenses received free spectacles, enhancing their quality of life.

The Impact of the Camp

The eye check-up camp was a resounding success, attracting over 200 participants. Many individuals were diagnosed with conditions that required immediate attention, and appropriate referrals were made for further treatment. The overwhelming response from the community underscores the critical need for such health initiatives.
